How long have you been racing downhill?
This is my 1st full season racing. I've been riding downhill for 3 years and did a couple of races but this year i'm stepping it up a gear and have booked onto 14 races.
In 3 words, some up what you enjoy about riding
Fun, Friends, Freedom
What bike are you riding this season?
Lapierre 720 aka 'Jean-Pierre'
What is the worst thing about riding?
I was off the bike through injury towards the end of last year and it was agony having to sit at home while everyone is out riding, occasional injuries are part of the sport so you have no choice but to sit it out and fix up. But aside from that I guess the worst thing is washing muddy kit every weekend through the winter.
Favourite or most inspirational rider and why?
Tracy Moseley for never giving up! She has been racing for 15+ years and has many World Cups under her belt, after such a long career her dream of winning the World Champs finally came true in 2010 through absolute determination, she is a truly inspirational rider.
What is your favourite place or track to ride and why?
Anywhere with a chairlift and sunshine! Other than the luxury of that I’d say Hopton is my favourite track, has a fantastic uplift service and its very fast and quite technical, just so much fun!
Other than cycling, what else do you get up to in your spare time?
Not a lot else really, my life evolves around riding, although I love cooking and photography.
Aims for the 2011 season?
Be more positive about my riding and results. Aim for podium at every event and be happy with my times in comparison to other riders. I want to feel more confident at races and try to keep my race runs consistent and minimise the crashes!!
Describe your riding style in 3 words...
Focussed, Calculated, Relaxed
The most important question yet... Clipless or Flats?
Clipped in for cross country and flats for downhill, at least until I get the confidence to be attached to my downhill rig!
